Really I am a bit confused here. The first poem is not about the Olympics at all. And the second poem is one that does relate to the Olympics, but is one that is apparently on the Poem Hunter site (from some previous time) & is not a new poem. The purpose of the Poetry Jam prompt really is to write a new OLYMPIC poem, which I don't see.

__In my weak mind's memory, the Olympic competions were generated by the initial contests at Mount Olympus; "more than the warrior's gall."
__And, "the pendant of a soul clasped bosom" speaks directly toward that soul sought talisman, an Olympic Medal.
__Well seen, Gillena! _m

The evolution of the competition is interesting. I believe some of the original competitors were fighting for love or life...maybe that was the gladiators, of which there were a few very good women too. All needing strength of sole and soul.

I haven't posted this anywhere else but as it has an Olympic lean I thought you might enjoy it... you have to go to the main site - I am as of the moment the only one to write on the prompt.

All the best. I do wonder what Zeus would think of the games today?
